As a parent, we can’t help but feel excited yet concerned for our teens when they step out of the door and enjoy the rest of the night for prom. So before you’re done taking pictures of them, and embarrassing them in front of there date, make sure you follow this quick check list guide to ensure your teens safety!

1. Get phone numbers!

Find out who your teens hanging out with, and get there phone numbers. This doesn’t mean to call them every hour to check up on them, just use this as an emergency. Also, if they can give you numbers without you calling them all the time, this will show them that you trust them.

2. Encourage them to hang out in groups.

With crime on the rise these days, to help minimize assault or robbery, ask your teens to stay in a group instead of hanging out singular with them and just there date. This will discourage perpetrators to stay clear of them.

3. Talk to them about sex and alcohol

Did you know that teens who engage in these activities, were not discussed among there parents? We know how difficult and uncomfortable it can be to talk to your kids about these activities, however, you need to educate your kids about the poor choices they can make while they are under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Also, with teen pregnancy on the rise, educate your kids on the danger of contacting an Sexual Transmitted Disease, along with teen pregnancy.

4. Support them to refrain from peer pressure

Teach your kids to value themselves. Remind them that sometimes being strong means doing the opposite of what’s expected of them. Also, if you notice that your kids usually fall victim to peer pressure, suggest they hang out with groups of people that are are not so easily influenced.

5. Be fair, and set rules and a lenient curfew

If overall you’ve been a stern parent, maybe this is your opportunity to allow them to bend the rules- just a little bit. Set a reasonable curfew, AND set rules for after prom activities. Make sure you do this before any plans are made to avoid conflict. For example, if you set rules for your teens to avoid hotel parties, and sleep overs they will automatically know it’s not allowed, and therefore not make plans to attend.

6. Be nice and give them a couple of extra bucks

We know that you probably pitched in for part or all of there expenses for prom, but can’t you shell out a couple of extra bucks? It can come in handy for some extra gas, or some dining time! think of the children

Whoever said prom is just for girls? Although girls can get a little over there heads with prom, it wouldn’t be the same without the fellas! This is a complete checklist to make sure that you’ll be the heart-throb- stud-good-smelling-gentleman-suave-hair-do-sweet-talking-guy for prom! This checklist is mainly to prepare you for prom, in advance! No one likes a procrastinator, and you better believe the girl you plan on taking will give remind you as well.

Got a lovely girl yet?!?!

Is there a girl that you had your eyes set on? Times have changed, and not all girls wait for girls to take initiative. If she’s still not asking, then don’t want too long, swallow your breath and ask!

Although the girl might have a slamming body, and a cute smile, don’t make that the only reason to ask her out. Choosing someone for prom, doesn’t necessarily mean that it should be a difficult choice, but we do suggest to choose wisely. You want someone you’re comfortable being yourself around, and that includes you acting like a comedian at times. After all, you will be with the same girl for the whole day, it’s inevitable that you would like to spend it with someone you’re compatible with.

Discuss the expenses

Traditionally, it was common for guys to cover prom tickets, and cover the cost for girls. However, this was years ago, and times have evolved. After you’ve picked out your prom date, openly discuss who pays for what. Normally, students assume whoever does the asking, does the paying, but that’s not a rule of fact.

Go over the expenses such as prom tickets, picture expenses, car rental, and after prom activity expenses. If both you and the girl don’t have a set income, meaning you both live off your parents, maybe you would want to split the expenses down the middle.

Seeing how guys take pride in providing for there ladies, you might be a guy who wants to cover prom tickets, and her dress. Just make sure to discuss these expenses in advance.

Guys are insecure too, girls are just more OPEN with there insecurity.

It’s true, guys are just as insecure as girls, the only difference it’s commonly advertised for women to get in shape. But if you’re a guy with the same mentality, then pick up an easy work out, or a weight training class. Most guys like sports, and that can be beneficial in muscle toning and weight loss.

The same rule apply to males as well, don’t get on crazy diets! It seems tempting to avoid eating to eliminate calories, but the truth is your body needs calories to function properly.

Get a buddy to exercise with you. Male friends love to give eachother a challenge, and that challenge can make you look slim and toned underneath your tuxedo!

Hygiene and Haircut

So girls got there make up, hair, and etiquette, and you guys have to worry about your hygiene and hair cut! If theirs a cologne that seems appealing to you, then wear it! Just make sure you don’t reek of it to the point that you find your date sneezing like crazy, and her wanting to dance a couple of feet away from you. Not to mention, don’t get a strong musky smell, some women are allergic to that.

Get a clean cut look for prom. If your hair is longer then it normally is, get a hair cut! Most guys have a set hair cut, and most of the time you just need a slight trim and shave. If you need a haircut, we recommend going with someone who normally does your hair, don’t go bold on this and risk going to a stylish you’ve never been to. Try to limit looking absolutely different to prom, you might think it’s not all that bad on you, but you’re date might now even want to take a picture with you.

And this is something you should already know, but since this is a checklist, please make sure your nails are clean! You’ll be dancing away on your prom night, and that requires holding hands. And no one likes a bacteria filled finger nail.

Her corsage!

Ok, so I know I said proms are not that traditional anymore, however it is imperative that you buy her a corsage. Just how she’s buying you a boutonniere, it’s a task to get her a corsage.

Try to get an idea of what your outfits will look like, and you can pick a corsage for her-OR you can have her choose out of your selection.

Try to get the corsage a couple of days before prom, you need to refrigerate it!

You can save prom by bring a couple of things with you!

So accidents happen all the time, so remind yourself to bring things that will limit problems on prom. You might want to bring extra cash just in case for emergencies, a disposable camera, a safety pin (it can really save the night! for you or your date!) a thin comb, and a cell phone.

And…. RELAX!

Seems ironic right? this whole checklist and relax? well truth is, prom is suppose to be a fun filled event, and naturally stress can bring on a mess of symptoms. So take a deep breath, and have fun!

Everyone knows how stressful prom can be. And no matter how many times you hear that little voice in your head telling you to get your butt up and organize for prom, you find yourself day dreaming about the guy you’re going with, or you rather occupy your time by hanging out with friends. Then you realize that prom is just around the corner, and now your under a time crunch. At this point, most of the dresses that best suit you are now out of stock, and you’re left with the prom reject dresses. Not to mention, you still have to schedule your last minute appointment that probably won’t be convenient for your schedule. And the worst case scenario is you getting a hair stylist that does a lousy job, leaving you with the 1970′s feather look. Ok, maybe I went off in a tangent, but let’s be real here, the bottom line is you need to organize for prom IF you want things to go smoothly. And if you’re the type of person that likes to avoid problematic situations, then I know you’ll find this checklist beneficial. Who knows you might got things rolling with or without this checklist, but just to be sure, scroll through it and make sure you have everything set! Checklist are made to prepare you in advance. Be wise and have a stress free prom ladies!

Got your sharp dressed man?

Don’t go for someone who you might expect has feelings for you, even though you might think he’d be a fun prom date, imagine the mess he can stir if he realizes that the feelings aren’t mutual. Leave that drama for your mama, ok not her either. Bottom line,it can bring on assumptions, and the simple way of avoiding it is not asking.

Don’t ask a stranger either. I mean, in High School everyone might vaguely know everyone right? Although he might be a good looking fella, don’t take someone you don’t know that well. You don’t want to put yourself in a sticky situation.

Ask someone you’ve known for some time. There are some people that we meet, and we feel like we’ve known them all our lives. If you were lucky to have that encounter, don’t hesitate, just ask!

The main goal for prom is to have fun right? You want this night to be memorable, so bring someone you have fun with! He might be a solid guy with a humorous character. He’ll be a great asset to prom, you won’t regret it!

Got that fab dress?

Look through fashion magazines or your favorite magazines like seventeen and cosmopolitan.

Go to local stores and try out different dresses, don’t just settle on one!

Educate yourself on styles, cut, and color that will do your frame some justice!

Go bold not dull! don’t be afraid to stand out! *don’t look like a road block either!

Look at the latest fashions, and if you’re looking into a traditional prom dress (long, formal, elegant) you might want to add some details to make it dazzling!

Leave the hair up to the professionals!

Unless you have a hair style in mind that you can pull off by doing on your own,DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT let your friends or family touch your hair unless there licensed beautician. As cold as that may sound, we all have heard of some prom horror stories about letting your friends or family doing hair, and you’ll find your hair crisp and burned because someone wasn’t paying attention to the hot curling iron. Leave it up to the experts do there work!

Unless you work, and bring in some dough, it’s important that you find a stylist that will fit your budget. And please don’t take the words out of context here, most people will think since you’re looking for someone cheap, your hair do ought to be cheap! That’s all but a myth. Shop around, and ask around, I’m almost positive you’ll find someone willing to work with your broke…. I mean, willing to work out a budget with you, trust me ladies, it’s not impossible!

Look for hair styles that will flatter your face. Take for example if you have a long thin face, you might want to do a half pick up, and leave the other half for curls. If you’re a little on the sporty side, and don’t want to do anything to glamorous, you might want to do a complete updo and pull your bangs off to the side, just don’t go too simplistic and look like plain jane.

Are you fab or flab?

Maybe some of us ate more of those cheetos and doritos that we said we wouldn’t. Maybe we got our late night snacks from eating out with our friends on the weekends. If you’re feeling insecure about your weight then do something about it. Remember that saying “All talk and no action”, prove them wrong!

Start exercising anywhere from 3-5 days a week. Don’t do anything too strenuous that you know your body can’t handle. For example, if you’re not use to running don’t expect to run with your high school track and keep up with them, this is just a recipe for disaster. Do simle exercises like jogging, swimming, and cycling. You’ll start to feel good in no time.

Eat healthy, but don’t get on one of those crazy diets like eating specific foods everyday. You can’t live off just drinking herbalife smoothies all day, and you can’t live off eating one meal a day, with some diet supplements, well you can, you’ll just be really UNHEALTHY! Your body needs nutrients and fat! yes fat! So limit your fried foods, and lay off soft drinks.

Make it a habit to eat healthy, and exercise. If you know you need a push, ask a friend to be your exercising buddy, although they might be a pain, you know it will be for a good cause. In the end, they’ll be the reason why you’re feeling good

Prom ain’t all about you girl, his boutonniere!

Discuss what your dress looks like, and choose your colors

Set an appointment of when to pick it up, you might want to pick it up a week before prom.

Ok, so I lied, prom is the event that most girls get crazy about, so this might be a perfect time to casually remind him about your corsage. Something a long the lines like, “So what do you think about this boutonniere, do you think it will match with the corsage you’re getting?” See, planning is good

Walking with class!-SHOES!

Try out different shoes, and make sure there something you can walk in!

Don’t get shoes that will take the attention off of the dress. Get shoes that will give details to your dress, but you don’t want your dress to be the center of attention.

And, MOST IMPORTANTLY, break into your shoes! Walk around them in your house, in your backyard, anywhere! just make sure you get yourself accustomed to them, because the day of prom, you’ll be relying on them to take you everywhere.

Never walked in heels before? Again, practice makes perfect. Also, please don’t get 4-5 inch heels, you’ll just be setting yourself up for an accident.

Set all your appointments!

Set your hair and nail appointments. Make appointments so that there convenient to your schedule.

Your back up plan!

So we’ve heard of wardrobe malfunctions, and tearing up for prom. Do yourself a favor and make a list of things that can help you minimize problems and “malfunctions” for prom. Also, don’t bring a huge bag with your life in it. Bring small but beneficial products like panty hose, safety pins, light make up, and a camera.

And last but not least, reminder to not panic!

It seems like a contradiction right? This whole list and not panic? Well, think of it this way, with every sacrifice there is a price, so you know your effort will be well portrayed when you’re on the dance floor looking AMAZING!!!

Q. When should I ask a girl out for prom? How many months in advance should I ask her? and HOW should I ask her?

A. I would suggest asking a girl out for prom during the months of Dec and January. You might think it’s a little too early, but think about preparation, her dress (shopping for a dress to flatter her figure, style, and color!) her make up, her accessories like shoes, and necklace!! And certainly procrastinating on prom, will not leave you a large variety of the best cut prom dresses. With online stores being one of the most marketed places, styles will become out of stock if not ordered in a timely fashion, also if it fits the latest style of 2009.

Your last question really depends on what type of relationship you have. If she’s someone you’ve talked to once in awhile, and enjoy each others company, then you may want to do something cute and give her a card that says “will you go to prom with me?” along with one of her favorite candies. If she’s someone you’re interested in (your future girlfriend) you may want to ask her our on a casual outing, like to a movie, or a friends party, and pop the question there. Whatever the situation may be, most girls would be flattered that you mustered enough courage to ask her, and maybe that in itself can motivate her to go with you!

Q. I can’t wait for my prom, but I’m a little stressed about expenses. I hear about different “Prom Traditions”, so is it only right that a boy buys everything for prom? How does this work?

A. This is a common question, but there’s no right answer. It’s not a matter of fact situation. Ultimately, it comes down to this, you need to ask in advance who is covering what expenses and so forth. In the past, traditionally the majority of the boys did buy the girls there prom dresses and prom tickets. However, times have changed, and some girls prefer to buy there own dress and tickets. And there are times, where guys would want to cover all charges because it gives them a sense of pride.

My best advice, is not to assume who will cover expenses, and ask in advance who will be covering charges. Whatever the situation may be, you can’t really depend that people follow tradition as times have changed.

Q. I asked a guy to go to prom with me recently, and now he makes gestures as if were going out. He calls me more then he usually does, and now I find him wanting to be with me all the time. I’ve known him roughly for almost a year, and the reason why I asked him was because I felt comfortable with him, and he’s such a funny guy! But now I don’t even know if I should go with him if he feels like that towards me. What should I do?

A. Well first off, I must commence by saying you seem like an honest and straight coming person! But I’m afraid there’s no “easy way” out to this scenario. We all know how hard it is to be honest, without feeling like you stepped all over there feelings, however, talking to him in advance should ease the situation. Take for example, if this issue was not brought up in advance, after prom he might feel that he still has a shot with you. Although the truth may hurt, at least he won’t feel like you led him on. The best way to lay it on him is to restate what he is to you, for example you can say “Thanks again for coming with me, I asked you cause I felt most comfortable asking a friend with me to prom..” Or if he starts to hit on you, just be firm on where you stand, but don’t be mean! Tell him something a long the lines like “I’m flattered that you feel that way about me, and you know how much I enjoy your company, but I only see you as a friend, I hope you understand..”

If the guy still seems persistent, unfortunately, I would advise to refrain from taking him to prom. You don’t want unnecessary problems on prom, nor do you want a friend to be really clingy with you.

Q. I’ve heard some “after prom”horror stories, so I’ve took extra pre caution and I’m renting a car with a group of 6, and the people that I’m riding with are all my good friends. HOWEVER, I’m going with someone that I’ve been dating with for almost a year. There’s this big talk about prom being “the night” and this is part of the reason why I’m going in a group to avoid doing anything I might regret. I know eventually the question will come up, and there’s only so much I can do to try to avoid it, so how do I tell him?

A. This is always a difficult issue. However, if you know firmly where you stand in all of this, we suggest to let him know in advance to know what to expect. There are scary statistics about unwanted sex on prom with teen pregnancy, and STD’s. Some women felt pressured to have sex, and it IS rape. If you’ve been seeing this guy for a year, he should respect you, regardless of what the answer is. If you find yourself being confronted with the same question, let your girlfriends know, and avoid him at all cost. If the problem seems to escalate, then phone a parent, or someone close to you to come and pick you up from prom. In addition, we hope this guy respects you and cares about the way you feel about the situation, but if he becomes hot tempered, and accuses you of being a prude, then it’s pretty safe to say that it would be an legitmate reason to get rid of him.

Q. I’m a freshman in high school (15) and I’m very close to my sister who’s a junior and goes to the same high school. There’s a senior who talks to my sister, and I say hi whenever I see him. Well he asked me to prom (my sister is sooo happy!!) but I’m worried that my parents are going to decline because of the age difference, he’s 18. So I have thought about lying to them, and telling them that he’s a junior like my sister. But then again, I’ve thought about getting caught. I can see how my parents would think that this is a jump start to me dating, but I’m not romantically interested in this guy, I want to go to have fun. I really want to go with him, how can I get my parents to say yes?

A. Well if you would like for your parents to trust you, then lying will prohibit them from doing so. We know how hard parents can be, but it’s like they always say, it’s because they care about your welfare that they would like to prevent any harm being done to you. What we would suggest being honest and forth coming about him. Try to be as open as possible. Also, we realize that usually fathers are more uptight with there daughters, so why not bring the guy over to your parents a few times to that they can’t become better acquainted with him. Also, having your sister attending prom might not be a bad idea so that your parents can diffuse any tension they have with you going. We know that either way, you’re parents will be skeptical about this guy only because he’s older then you, and he’s a stranger to your family. It would also help for you to tell your parents that he’s not someone you’re considering dating, and you just want to go for the sake of having fun. We wish you the best of luck!

Q. Im a guy, and I wasn’t really thinking about going to prom, until my friends started to hassle me about it. I’ve always been an outgoing guy, and I’m well known in school because I play sports, but I don’t understand what’s the big deal about prom? With the money that all my friends spend on prom, I thought that money could come in handy for another special event like traveling. Not only that, the expenses for prom are only going to last a day. On the other hand, I would’ve like to went because it would have been the last dance of the school year, where my friends and I will be together one last time. And not having a date isn’t an excuse of why I didn’t want to go to prom, since I have a lot of female friends. What should I do?

A. Well you’re absolutely right, prom is not cheap, and spending all that money for a day seems like a waste right? Well I went to prom, and speaking from experience prom is a traditional event. Until this day, prom is the biggest formal event of the school year. Just like you stated, prom is the last dance of the year, so it’s a time of celebration as well as a time of saying good bye. It’s not a big deal if you don’t go, but I assume your friends are giving you a hard time because they would love to see you there. If you do decide to go, let it be your own choice. Don’t base your decisions for the sake of others. In other words, go with your gut!

Q. I’m having a hard time shopping for a prom dress. I’m a heavy set girl with a pear shaped body. I wanted to wear a short prom dress, maybe knee length high. What type of dress would be suitable for my figure?

A. Typically for pear shaped body, styles such as the drop waist, and the empire cut are give the illusion of appearing longer and thinner. An empire cut dress de-emphasizes the mid section area, taking away the focus of the body. Also styles with detailed bust, or fancy embroidery details can be a great asset to the dress. Long dresses are also a great style for a pear shaped figures, or heavy set bottoms.

So a particular girl might be giving you googly eyes for awhile, but she’s not the girl you’re planning on taking to prom. You know sooner or later the question will be addressed, but how do you reject going with her? Or you might be a girl, dreading going to school to see your friend looking to be your future boyfriend. He’s a cool guy, but not someone you were planning on going to take to prom, so how do you do it? How do you reject taking someone to prom, when you know it’s something so special? You’ve come to the right place, here are some guidelines on how to let them down.

1. Don’t let technology do it for you! say it in person

With the update of modern technology, people are conditioned to speak to one another through text, facebook, myspace, emails, and so forth. Modern technology has contributed to people being so impersonal with one another. When was the last time you said “Hi, how are you doing” in the beginning of a text before stating why you were sending it in the first place? When rejecting someone to prom, the most valor thing you can do is say it in person. Rejecting someone’s offer to prom through text, myspace, and emails doesn’t show the respect they deserve, not to mention you’ll leave a lasting bad impression, that they’ll recognize why it wasn’t a good idea to take you to prom anyway. Don’t leave it up to technology to do the work for you! Be responsible, respectful, and ultimately you owe it to them to say it in person!

2. Don’t lead them on

*So lets face it, rejecting someone to prom is never easy. However, leading them on, is not the answer either. It’s easy to show them that you SEEM interested, then when the issue is addressed, you immediately flake and your deception is revealed. At one point in your life, you will be in that same position, and we doubt that anyone would like to be toyed with, or given false hope. So be truthful! We know it sounds like a lot of work, but again, honesty is the best policy. Imagine if you tell a person, “You were going to ask me to prom?!?!?! Im so sorry, I’m going with someone else already, Im sorry!” sooner or later, your lie won’t be so discreet and eventually that person will find out (Come on it’s high school, everyone talks!) The best way out is to let them know, is start off by saying your falttered for the invite, but that you had plans to go with someone else and just leave it at that.

3. Dont be cruel, Be kind!

Everyone knows the golden rule, “Treat others the way you would like to be treated”. So first things first, Don’t laugh at he or she, and choose your words wisely. Using correct vocab can come a long way. Take for instances this 2 scenarios.

So he/she has been talking to you alot in your english class, and you get a feeling they might ask you to prom but never took it to consideration, now they ask you to step out of your group cause they wanted to “ask you something”, now there in front of you, with groups of people in the background, and you see the words you never wanted to hear “Will you go to prom with me” You..

1. First chuckle a little bit (are they serious? me with them? no way) and your chuckle becomes a laugh, then you finally say, “Wow, I wasn’t even considering it, I had someone else in mind, sorry!” and you slap them on the back when you leave. This shows insincerity, and lack of respect. The person might go home, and obsess about there insecurities and flaws. This could have been avoided if you choose the correct word usage.

2. You start off by saying that you’re flattered (after all they had the courage to ask you out to prom in person, and not through a messenger or technology!) and let them know in a firm manner that you were planning for awhile to go with someone else, or that someone had already asked you. Reassure them that there a cool person, and that you are flattered, and that you have no doubt that they will find someone else. Although it will hurt them, it will take some of the edge off. Using selective vocabulary can come a long way!

4. Hook them up!

A nice touch to the rejection is hooking him/her up! I mean, sure you didn’t want to go prom with them, but you can find someone, or know somebody who does! The best case scenario is hooking them up with one of your friends that wants to go with them, and this way, you can casually let them know you’re declining there offer because your friend would like to go with them instead. At this point, you can offer advice on how to ask them out, and as soon as you know it, you’ll be off the hook!

Although it seems far from now, homecoming is slowly seeping in to the new school year. Just how high school students show significant importance for prom, Homecomings are also very famed. 2009 Homecoming dresses are looking very glamorous, and chic. Over the years, trends and styles have changed, however this years homecoming seems promising in terms of homecoming dresses being a very big hit!

Chic Homecoming dresses consist of the following:

Short Formal Dresses- This years Homecoming, short dresses are sexy and chic! Just because short dresses are normally worn for non formal events, there are tons of short, sexy, elegant dresses that are appropriate for Homecoming. Typically, for a dress to appear “formal” they would be long, however with this year’s new fashion, it’s all about short dresses! One of the most admirable short dresses, would include the “Bubble Hem”.

The bubble hem is a dress that has a skirt with a puffy bottom, and the material folds in and is sewn. The way the material is sewn creates a bubble like effect. Unlike some short dresses, the bubble hem dress is more classy, and stylish. It’s style is more elegant then casual short dresses. In addition, sharp, bold, vivid colors are also radiant for this years homecoming.

Bold colors can make you look prominent on the dance floor, and can flatter your skin tone when using the right shade. Bold colors like ivory, red, yellow, black, and blue are strong colors and can make your frame and statue more appealing. For example, a strapless ivory cocktail dress can be very simplistic, however the style, and color show formality, and elegance. Other things that contribute to a short sassy dress are the designs, details, and style of the dress.

The formal one shoulder strap dress was very popular in the academy awards. There are different ways of styling the dress, however, the satin dress with a one shoulder organza strap was commonly worn by actresses and models. The dress can be an asymmetrical neckline with a one strap, or it can have a heart shaped bust line, with one crossing strap. Either way, this dress style is sophisticated while still maintaining a ravishing and sexy look.

Detailed short dresses are essential to a 2009 Homecoming dress. This year’s homecoming dresses consist of detailed beads, gathered waist, pleats and tieres. Dresses that are detailed with beads and rhinestones usually give a dress attitude and a fun and flirty look. Because rhinestones and beads are shimmery and metallic, it would be no surprise that beaded dresses are the attraction at homecoming. It’s only inevitable that the sparkling of the rhinestones and beads will lure more eyes on to you. However, these dresses must be worn in coordination. If your dress is loud based on the color, try to avoid beaded dresses. This will make you look like you got out of an 80′s dance flick.

Another dress for the homecoming fashionistas are the pleated and tiers style. Cute Pleated Dresses gives a 3D delight to the dress, and is pleasing to ones eye. Some of the more cuter styles have a tiere layered bust, empire cut, and pleated skirt. These dresses are flirty, and youthful in design. A Tiere Dress is a unique design in which 3 layers of materials are on top one another, either vertically or horizontally. This effect creates more of a snug feel, and a sexy look. It’s a great style to gather bust and waists. A cinched waist dress is almost similar. Cinched waist are gathered tightly around the waist to give form to a figure. This style is cute and universal for any women to wear. Because it is a fitted waist, it gives an illusion of appearing thinner, and great for busty and curvy women.

Whether you are planning to attend homecoming with a bold colored dress, or beaded classy dress, this years homecoming will be nothing but stylish!

You want your prom to be just as memorable, as you imagined as a young girl. So heres are a few tips to consider when asking your prom date. Your date is just as important, or if not MORE important as the dress you will be wearing. They can ruin your prom if you don’t give it some thought and time. So here are a list of things you should consider, before asking your date out.

You’re the outgoing, conversationalist- If you’re this type of person, you would want to ask someone who feels comfortable being with you, if not who is similar to you. This can avoid awkward moments, and a bland time. People who are shy, or timid, might feel ill at ease being with your crowd, or feel discomfited. You want someone who will be able to enjoy themselves, not have a panic attack by your rowdiness.

Don’t ask him just cause he’s the hottest guy in school!- This can be a recipe for disaster. Can you remember a guy in either your elementary or junior high school who had a big ego, and extreme level of confidence? Sure, you might become the most envied girl on prom, but what if he mistreats you? What if he’s just plain out rude because he’s accustomed to having people worship him? Value your dignity, don’t be fooled by his nicely shaped eyebrow, or his V shaped body. He might LOOK good on the dance floor, but he might just be a donkeys ass as a date. Have another girl deal with crude humor, or conceited ways.

Ask someone who has the same plans for prom- When asking your date out to prom, be sure he has the same idea of what you guys will be doing on prom. If you like to dance, make sure he does too! Picture you asking your date out, only to find out he thinks dancing is for nerds, and he’s “too cool” for that? Would you want to sit down for the rest of the evening because your date refused to get up and get his groove on? So, be sure he’s up for the same ideas you have planned for that day. Also, make sure your date is not the reason why you couldn’t enjoy yourself. If he admits he doesn’t plan on attending that after party, or that he might just want to go home before prom ends, it’s best to start looking elsewhere. Your prime concern is having fun, you don’t want to be consumed with anxiousness, finding ways to entertain your date.

Ways to prevent mistakes and error for prom. Read ahead, and use these quick tips for Prom.

Some might say the most difficult task for prom, is searching for a prom dress and managing a budget. Prom is a formal event held at the end of a high school year. Since it is the last dance of the year, juniors and seniors try to make there last dance memorable. The girls wear there best formal, sexy dresses, and the guys will put on there best stud looking tuxedo. To make prom a less stressful experience, we’ve created a list of things to consider to prevent you from having a wardrobe malfunction, to having a sprained ankle for prom, yes a sprained ankle! Hope these informal tips will stir you away from making bad moves for prom!

1. Search for a prom dress at least 3 months in advance.

*This will leave enough time to go shopping and try on different prom dress. Also, with Prom being a huge theme nowadays, online stores, and your local prom dress store, are almost out of stock on dresses and can take up to a month to become in stock again. Also, when shopping online, it is always wise to shop months in advance to avoid late transit time, and ship back the dress for exchange if necessary. This will also give you enough time to make alterations on the dress, or get it pressed if needed.

2. If you’re wearing an undergarment, girdle, or a corset, try it on with your prom dress!

*When shopping for a prom dress, be sure to try on the dress with your undergarments, that way you can get an accurate feel to the dress, and determine if the dress is for you. Don’t make the mistake of not trying your undergarments with your prom dress. You can be the only girl in school, with a noticeably bulge from your midriff and it won’t even be your stomach!

3. Don’t get on crazy diets.

*Unless your absolutely confident with your body, most women think about weight loss before prom. However, if you are determined to lose weight, don’t get on crazy diets that will only hurt your body, and not strengthen it. It seems tempting to skip a meal to avoid calories but the truth is, your body needs nutrients and healthy fat cells to function properly. If you do get on a diet, portion your 3 meals a day, and exercise regularly. Also, when you exercise it is vital you maintain a proper meal, otherwise you can put stress on your body which can lead to faintness and other illnesses. Stay healthy, no one wants to be sick the day of Prom.

3. Break into your shoes!

*Try on your shoes days before prom, that way you can accustom yourself to them. This will also test to see if the heels are too high, or if it’s simply to hard to walk in them. Do yourself a favor, and break into those shoes. This will help prevent you from having an ankle sprain injury. Also, if your not use to wearing heels, practice walking in them can help you feel confident the day of prom.

4. Rest up!

*Don’t be a late shopper for prom. From the reasons that we’ve just stated, it simply is problematic and leaves room for errors. Do things in a timely fashion, and try to have a stress free prom! Prom will require a lot of energy, therefore make sure you get plenty of sleep so you can enjoy your day at prom.

Everyone, sooner or later will receive that invite to your 10 or 20 yr high school re-union. On the invite, it will state whats required of the attire, and where and when it will be held. You might be dreading the re-union for sake of running into those petty conversations, avoiding the superficial clique that still manages to keep there noses down on everyone else, or you might have put on a little weight and is insecure about what people would say, or what embarrassing questions they will tackle down. If you have your mind set on going, don’t let these petty opinions over rule you. If you nail this Re-union with a glowing wide smile, carry this event with charisma and charm, and wear your dress with poise, you will look inevitably stunning! Some of the most classics dresses seen for 10-20 high school reunions have been the “Little Black Dress”

The little black dress are usually tea length, and very elegant in design. Its not very shows, and minimizes the exposure of skin.

Another great timeless dress is the sexy strapless tea length dress. A fancy strapless dress is always elegant and chic in design. If you feel a tad uncomfortable showing too much on your top, you can wear a shawl, or a mini bolero to compliment the outfit.

If wearing a dress is not an option for you, reflect on wearing some dressy black pants with a nice knitted top. Black is a very popular color, and never seems to die away. Also, if you want to slim down for your re union, wearing an black empire dress can make your body look longer and thinner.

For a re union, I wouldn’t suggest anything drastic on your make up or accessories. If you want to dye your hair a certain color for your reunion, I would advise you to test out the color a month prior before the event . If you want to go for a more showy look, learn how to accessorize your jewelry with your clothes. If your dress is loud, try to lessen thre amount of jewelry worn with it. The important thing is to be comfortable in the dress you’ll be wearing, and reminisce over the good times you spent with your friends!

What is a prom dress? Most girls know what prom is, but do they know what a prom dress looks like? If you had an older sister, you looked up to her as a guide, emulating her style of fashion, and watching her get ready for the big school dance. Prom is the last school dance that takes place at the end of the year. Since it will be the last event the senior class will share together, it is imperative that they look there best. It is the last event that the students most look forward to. Since its such a huge event, students fret over the outfit they will wear, the cost, who there going to ask, after prom activities, and so forth. Most people think females have a natural sense of fashion; however what if you’re the type of girl who’s absolutely oblivious to the latest fashions? What if you don’t know how to accessorize? How to match colors? OR what if you grew up with nothing but brothers, and simply don’t know what to wear? Before you start ripping out your hair, here are a number of things to consider of how a prom dress looks like. Prom dresses are typically fancy, elegant, sexy, unique, and graceful. Fashion has changed over the years, however elegancy has always been displayed in most or if not all prom dresses. Usually, prom dresses are long, and reach floor length. Prom dresses are usually solid in colors, and do not have more then 2 colors in each dress. Wearing a variety of colors on your prom dress will make you look tacky, and non formal. Based on your body shape choose a neckline that will compliment your body frame. Necklines that are regularly worn for prom are strapless, halter top, low cut v neck lines, heart shaped bust lines (or better known as sweetheart neckline) scoop neck line, and spaghetti straps. The style of dresses that are prominent for prom are A line dresses, Ball dresses (think of The style of dresses that are prominent for prom are A line dresses, Ball dresses (think of What is a prom dress? Prom dresses are usually rich in decoration, they will have some sort of design on the top adorned with beads and rhinestones. If you’re not too fond of jewelry or accessories, choosing a prom dress that has little or no design is also fine, as long as the dress is elegant and formal. It is not rare that females wear a short dress, however I don’t really recommend it. Short dresses give the impression as if you were heading to a semi formal party, cocktail party, or attending a reception party at a wedding. However, short dresses are worn for bridesmaids. If you still are puzzled on what to wear, go through magazines, online web stores, or your local shops that carry formal dresses. Think of yourself as a human cinderella, you’re dress will look like something that came out of a fairy tale!
